In Vitro Diagnostics
Turning Data into Diagnosis
In vitro diagnostics (IVD) are tests performed on samples that have been removed from the body for analysis. These tests can detect the presence of disease or infection, or alternatively can be used to determine the overall health of a patient, delivering accurate insight to physicians and healthcare providers. An array of complex techniques and tools, including flow cytometry, photometry, electrochemical cell measurement, and polymerase chain reaction, enable analysis in the chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and molecular testing categories.
Analog Devices’ broad portfolio of discrete precision and integrated power solutions simplify the design of complex IVD systems by providing signal chain solutions whether you are designing a blood gas analyzer, chemistry analyzer, mass spectrometer, or blood culture system.
Enabling Solutions Across In Vitro Diagnostics Testing Categories
Chemistry
Detecting whether an analyte is present or not present in typical amounts in the human body. Examples include glucose, lactate, and cholesterol.
Microbiology
Detecting infectious diseases including viruses, parasites, and fungi. An analysis of the body’s immune response to these diseases, including antibodies.
Hematology
Determining blood related diseases, including assessment and counting of blood cells and evaluation of protein.
Molecular Biology
Analyzing DNA, RNA, or the expression of proteins. Testing for abnormalities variation in genetic code and determining predisposition or presence of disease.
